1.Readthefollowingstoragedriveinstallationrules:
•Followtheorderofthestoragedrivebayswheninstallingastoragedrive.See“Frontviewofthe
server”onpage17
tolocatethestoragedrivebaysinyourserver.
•ForRAIDconfiguration,thestoragedrivesmustbethesametypewiththesamecapacityiftheyare
withinasingleRAIDarray.Formoreinformation,see“ConfiguringRAID”onpage58.
•Forstoragedriveswithdifferentcapacities,installthestoragedrivebyfollowingtheorderofthe
storagedrivebaysaswellastheorderfromthelowestcapacitytothehighestcapacity.
2.Openthefrontdoor(ifavailable).
3.Locatetheappropriatestorage-drivebay.See“Frontviewoftheserver”onpage17.
4.Pressthereleasebutton1toopenthehandleofthehot-swapstoragedriveorthedummytray.
