ToinstalltheRAID510iupgradekey,dothefollowing:
Attention:InstallingtheRAID510iupgradekeymightimpactyourRAIDconfigurations.Backupyourdata
beforeyoubegintoavoidanydatalossduetoaRAIDconfigurationchange.
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.If
theserverisintowerformfactor,laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage66.
4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheRAID510iupgradekeytoanyunpaintedsurface
ontheoutsideoftheserver.Then,taketheRAID510iupgradekeyoutofthepackage.
5.LocatetheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAIDAdapter.See“Servercomponents”onpage25.
6.LocatetheconnectorfortheRAID510iupgradekeyontheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAID
Adapter.Then,inserttheRAID510iupgradekeyintotheconnector.EnsurethattheRAID510iupgrade
keyissecurelyseatedontheAnyRAIDadapter.
Note:Ifnecessary,removetheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAIDAdapterfirstforeasier
operation.Then,reinstalltheLenovoThinkServerRAID510iAnyRAIDAdapter.See“Replacingthe
AnyRAIDadapterorthepass-throughboard”onpage143
