Toinstallorreplaceanopticaldrive,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage85.
3.Locatetheopticaldrivebays.See“Servercomponents”onpage28.
4.Dependingonwhetheryouareinstallingorreplacinganopticaldrive,dooneofthefollowing:
•Ifyouareinstallingasecondaryopticaldriveintheupperopticaldrivebay,removethefrontbezel.

.Then,removetheplasticshieldforthe
bayfromthefrontpanel.Removethescrew1thatsecuresthemetalEMIshieldcoveredonthe
upperopticaldrivebay.InsertafingerintotheholeintheEMIshieldandcarefullypulltheEMI
shieldoutofthefrontofthechassis.
