ToinstalltheTR500Key,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage85.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.LocatetheThinkServerRAID500Adapterandremoveanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmight
impedeyouroperation.
5.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheTR500Keytoanyunpaintedsurfaceonthe
outsideoftheserver.Then,taketheTR500Keyoutofthepackage.
Note:CarefullyhandletheTR500Keybyitsedges.
6.LocatetheTR500KeyconnectorontheThinkServerRAID500Adapter,andtheninserttheTR500
Keyintotheconnector.YoumightneedtoremovetheThinkServerRAID500Adapterfirst,installthe
TR500Keyonit,andthenreinstalltheThinkServerRAID500Adapter.See“Installingorremoving
theRAIDcard”onpage104
.
Note:EnsurethattheTR500KeyissecurelyseatedontheThinkServerRAID500Adapter.
