•Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationinthistopic.
ToinstalltheTPM,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage63.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage63.
4.Removetherisercardassembly1and2ifneeded.See“Replacingtherisercardassembly”on
page135
.
5.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheTPMtoanyunpaintedsurfaceontheoutsideof
theserver.Then,taketheTPMoutofthepackage.
Note:CarefullyhandletheTPMbyitsedges.
6.LocatetheTPMconnectoronthesystemboardandtheninserttheTPMintotheTPMconnector
onthesystemboard.
