UsethefollowinginstructionstoconnectcablesfromtheRAIDcardtothebackplane:
1.Forharddiskdrive0toharddiskdrive3,dooneofthefollowingdependingonthetypeofyourRAID
card:
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID500Adapter,useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableand
connectthemini-SASconnector
1ononeendofthecabletotheport0ontheThinkServerRAID
500Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector2ontheotherendofthecabletothemini-SAS
ports0-3onthebackplane.
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID700Adapter,useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableand
connectthemini-SASconnector3ononeendofthecabletotheports3-0ontheThinkServer
RAID700Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector
4ontheotherendofthecabletothe
mini-SASports0-3onthebackplane.
2.Ifyourserverhasmorethanfourharddiskdrivesinstalled,forharddiskdrive4toharddiskdrive7,
dooneofthefollowingdependingonthetypeofyourRAIDcard:
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID500Adapter,useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableand
connectthemini-SASconnector
3ononeendofthecabletotheport1ontheThinkServerRAID
500Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector4ontheotherendofthecabletothemini-SAS
ports4-7onthebackplane.
•IfyouareusingaThinkServerRAID700Adapter,useamini-SAStomini-SASsignalcableand
connectthemini-SASconnector
1ononeendofthecabletotheports7-4ontheThinkServer
RAID700Adapter.Then,connectthemini-SASconnector2ontheotherendofthecabletothe
mini-SASports4-7onthebackplane.
