•Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputermighthaveoneortwomemory-upgradeslots.
•Theoperatingspeedofthememorymodulehasdependencyonthesystemconfiguration.Insome
conditions,thememorymoduleinyourcomputermightnotbeabletooperateatthemaximumspeed.
Attention:Beforehandlingamemorymodule,touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.Thisaction
reducesanystaticelectricityfromyourbody.Staticelectricitycoulddamagethememorymodule.
Toreplaceamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Disablethebuilt-inbattery.See“Disablingthebuilt-inbattery”onpage69.
2.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnoverthecomputer.
3.Removethebasecoverassembly.See“Replacingthebasecoverassembly”onpage71.
4.Openthelatchesonbothsidesofthememory-upgradeslotatthesametime1,andthenremovethe
memorymodule2.Savetheremovedmemorymoduleforfutureuse.
Note:Thememory-upgradeslotaisavailableonsomemodels.
5.Placethenotchedendofthenewmemorymoduletowardthecontactedgesideofthememory-upgrade
slotandinsertthememorymoduleintotheslot1atanangleofabout20degrees.Pivotthememory
moduledownwarduntilitsnapsintoplace2.Ensurethatthememorymoduleisfirmlyinstalledin
theslotandcannotbemovedeasily.
Attention:
•Donottouchthecontactedgeofthememorymodule.Otherwisethememorymodulemightbe
damaged.
•Formodelsthatcomewithtwomemory-upgradeslots,ifonlyonememorymoduleisinstalled,ensure
thatyouinstallthememorymoduleintotheslotasshowninthefollowingillustration.Otherwise
yourcomputercannotworknormally.
