ToinstalltheWindows7operatingsystemanditsrelatedsoftwareonyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.StartThinkPadSetup.
2.SelectStartup.
3.SelectUEFI/LegacyBoot.
4.Dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyouaregoingtoinstalltheWindows7(32–bit)operatingsystem,selectLegacyOnlyorBoth.
•IfyouaregoingtoinstalltheWindows7(64–bit)operatingsysteminLegacymode,selectLegacy
Only.
•IfyouaregoingtoinstalltheWindows7(64–bit)operatingsysteminUEFImode,selectUEFIOnly.
5.PressFn+F10.
6.InserttheWindows7operatingsysteminstallationDVDintotheDVDdrive,andrestartthecomputer.
7.RestoreC:\SWTOOLSfromthebackupcopyyoumadebeforestartingtheinstallation.
8.InstallthedevicedriversforWindows7operatingsystem.See“Installingdevicedrivers”onpage93.

Thenameofeachsubfolderisthenumberofaxmodule.Forinformationabouteachxmodule,goto
theMicrosoftKnowledgeBasehomepageathttp://support.microsoft.com/,typethenumberofthex
moduleyouneedinthesearcheld,andclickSearch.
Toinstallaxmodule,runtheEXEleinasubfolderandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Note:Ifyouremovetheharddiskdrivefromthecomputerwithasingle-coreprocessorandinstallitona
computerwithadual-coreprocessor,youcangetaccesstotheharddiskdrive.Theopposite,however,is
