Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Note:Useanydocumentationthatcomeswiththeintrusionswitchandfollowthoseinstructionsinaddition
totheinstructionsinthistopic.
Toinstalltheintrusionswitch,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage69.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage69.
4.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheintrusionswitchandthebrackettoanyunpainted
surfaceontheoutsideoftheserver.Then,taketheintrusionswitchandthebracketoutofthepackage.
5.Notetheorientationandassembletheintrusionswitchwiththebracket.
